South West London Diabetic Eye Screening Connects with Residents at the Full of Life Fair 2026

The South West London Diabetic Eye Screening Programme was pleased to attend the Full of Life Fair 2026 at Allianz Stadium, Twickenham, joining a wide range of local organisations, community groups and service providers for a free event aimed at supporting residents aged 55 and over.

The event gave our team a fantastic opportunity to meet members of our community face-to-face, talk about the importance of diabetic eye screening, and answer any questions attendees had about the service. It also allowed us to hear directly from patients, giving us valuable feedback about their experiences and helping us better understand the needs of the communities we serve.

The fair was very well received, with a strong turnout throughout the day. Visitors were able to explore a wide range of activities, information and support services focused on health, wellbeing and independent living. These included community activity taster sessions, digital inclusion and cyber security advice, health and social care information from local professionals, and opportunities to connect with local groups and services.

Attendees also had access to specialist support through the event’s dedicated Health Centre and Spotlight on Dementia sessions, where they could ask questions and receive practical advice from experts.

One of the highlights of the day was spending time with members of the 55+ community, listening to their experiences, and having meaningful conversations about eye health and diabetes. Events such as the Full of Life Fair are a fantastic way to connect with local residents, promote preventative healthcare, and help people learn more about the services and support available to them. We were delighted to be involved and look forward to attending similar events in the future.
