Dorset Beach Clean
The Dorset Diabetic Eye Screening Programme team is passionate about giving back to the local community and preserving the local environment, which has led to the creation of our ‘Green Team’. The crew joined Litter Free Dorset’s initiative to help protect and preserve Dorset’s beautiful coastline, by taking part in beach cleans at Sandbanks, Poole.
The Green Team are proud to take part in keeping Dorset clean, by taking part in beach cleans. This has an incredible impact on not only removing rubbish from the beach, but protecting wildlife, reducing pollution in our seas and preserving natural spaces that local residents enjoy visiting. During the first clean alone, the team were able to collect an impressive 104KG of litter, demonstrating how small actions, when taking together, can make a meaningful difference to both the environment and the wider community, ensuring Dorset’s coastline remains a place that people can be proud of.
We aim to continue litter picks in the future, and we’d welcome anybody to get involved with us, so keep an eye out on the Dorset local programme page for any in the future.
